Principal System Admin


Nokia is seeking a talented engineer with main focus to deploy and support of highly transaction applications. This is Linux Application Support.



Day to Day Role: This role will work with key stakeholders to ensure technologies adhere to 99.9% or higher uptime in the 24/7/365 environment. The successful candidate will have a breadth of knowledge and success in key areas of online applications support and deployment services, such as planning, performance, latency, incident resolution, and be able to comprehend, translate, deliver and communicate priorities and resolutions. Day to Day this role has overall responsibility to Support large scale applications, deploy new and upgraded technology, with quality and consistency.



Qualifications/Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree (Computer science or related degree preferred)

• 6+ years’ experience in supporting, problem solving, deploying and migrating systems in high availability 24x7x365 environment.

• 5+ years in a system engineering, administrator or application support role for internet applications including scripting, monitoring, ticket response, and documentation.

• Passion and success in troubleshooting, problem solving, root cause analysis, design and building solutions.

• Working knowledge on Red Hat Linux and/or CentOS

• 5+ years Application Servers/Open Source Components: JBoss. Apache, PHP, & TomCat

• Technical proficiency in deployment tools: CVS OR Subversion OR Clearcase OR Puppet

• Expertise in monitoring tools: Nagios Professional, Cacti

• Excellent Communication skills (including presentation)

Web Developer
Cool Job - Day to Day role will involve:  Imagine building from ground up a portal with high visibility cool graphics and big data!!!


• Creation of big data interactive visualization and web portal experiences using the latest cutting-edge HTML5 web technologies, toolkits and paradigms

• Design and implementation of JavaScript-powered highly interactive and graphically rich visualization components and widgets

• Design and implementation of cutting edge personalized portal experiences

• Broad integration with web service systems using HTTP protocol and JSON serialization

• Design and implementation of a visualization SDK to enable creation of custom visualizations

• Implementation of web server (portal) templating constructs using Grails (Groovy)



Minimum Qualifications:

• Advanced Web Developer with proven track record of advanced JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS development skills

• Passion for designing and building exciting, innovative and complex data-driven visualization experiences

• Intermediate skills with the latest JavaScript/Browser toolkits such as DoJo, JQuery, JQueryUI

• 1+ years experience with Java or/and Groovy is Preferred

• API design expertise

• Familiarity with Grails strongly preferred

• Familiarity with databases/SQL

• 5+ years of software development experience

• Experience working in a team using agile development methods, version control, issue tracking and continuous integration

• Bachelor’s degree (Computer science preferred)





Desired Qualifications:



• Strong understanding of software design patterns, object-oriented analysis and design, MVC architecture and RESTful web services

• Excellent analytical and design skills

• Experience of debugging complex end-to-end web systems

• Have exceptional collaboration, listening, written and verbal communication skills

• Familiarity with D3 and/or WebGL a plus

• Familiarity with AWS a plus
